May 11, 2008 Sunset Beach Art Festival - This annual event is a local favorite. Held on the greenbelt (North & South Pacific), the event begins at 10 a.m. and goes till late afternoon. Cost: Free admission. Arts, crafts, a fundraiser raffle, live music and some vendor booths with soda and hot dogs are available. Take mom for Mother's Day and buy her a gift right there.
May 11, 2008 Mother's Day Brunch - The Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach will be hosting an extravagant Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday May 11th. Families will be able to enjoy ocean views and live entertainment while they dine and spoil Mom! Brunch will be presented in three seatings at 10:00a.m., 12:30p.m., and 3:00p.m. The price for this affair is $75 for adults and $19.95 for children ages 6-12, plus tax and gratuity. May 11, 2008Art Exhibit - Milford Zornes, N.A., American Artist. Honoring the works of one of America's esteemed artists, oil paintings that have never been exhibited until now are featured in the rare collection of art by Zornes, who passed away in February after reaching 100 years of age. May 11, 2008 New exhibition- Surfing Sounds Part II: Jan & Dean. This new exhibit explores the relationship and affect surfing music has on the surfing culture and pop culture, as well. It will feature original art by Huntington Beach resident, Dean Torrenceof Jan & Dean, and will include memorabilia from the band's decade-long rise to fame with songs that topped the charts with 28 hits: Deadman's Curve, Little Old Lady from Pasadena, Surf City and that actually continues today with concert tours.
