October 1, 2005 Oktoberfest at Old World Village Restaurant - Get out your lederhosen and learn the Chicken Dance at Oktoberfest in Huntington Beach. The event includes a live German band, dancing and tasty German foods from bratwürst with sauerkraut and potato salad to apple strudel. Shot girls in dirndl skirts sell liqueurs and a bar sells German and import beers plus mixed drinks. Oktoberfest offers adults only nights on Saturdays. The public is invited to join all or part of the pilgrimage of this area of cultural and scientific significance. At noon there will be a gathering at the Bolsa Chica Mesa Point Memorial Garden, established by the Bolsa Chica Land Trust and Native Americans. At 1:30 p.m. the pilgrimage will move behind the Bolsa Chica Mesa, where over 25 graves were destroyed by development. The area was occupied for over 6,000 years by the Tongva / Acjachmem ancestors.
