History of Reggae Sundays in Huntington Beach:
Reggae Sundays were held at 3 p.m. every Sunday at the now defunct Don the Beachcombers down the road from Bolsa Chica State Beach where they now take place. They were an indoor/outdoor event but now are outdoors. With the loosening of state beach rules allowing liquor at this beach location, the event has taken on a new life for reggae fans.
Fully Fullwood's Reggae Revue included the best in local and guest artist performing reggae classics from the masters of the sound - Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Toots Hibbert, etc. The weekly concerts charged $5 admission with the goal of helping keep homeless kids off the streets locally through use of door proceeds.
Beer was on tap in the Dagger Bar, but you'll find mai-tais, margaritas, shots, and exotic drinks. Just ask the bartender or cocktail server!
