South Parking Lot across from the entrance to Bolsa Chica State Beach.
Are you ready to be amazed? The free wetlands tour held every first Saturday of the month is offered by amazing volunteers -- trained-docents -- from the nonprofit organization Amigos de Bolsa Chica (Friends of Bolsa Chica).
The First Saturday Tour
begins with an on-site presentation of the Bolsa Chica Story. Stationed on
or near the footbridge at the entrance to the restored Bolsa Chica wetlands you
can learn about and see birds, endangered species, ecology and restoration
efforts. The free tour is first come, first served, ideal for families,
students, small groups, individuals, and tourists.
What to bring: Walking shoes, sunblock,
hat if needed, binoculars if you want a
close up look, cameras, bottled water
(portable restroom available in parking lot
only)
Do not bring: Pets -- they are not permitted in the wetlands; bicycles are not permitted on the trails. If you bring them be sure to bring locks. Smoking isn't allowed.
