September Sports Festivals in Huntington Beach
September is a glorious time to celebrate the great outdoors, heritage, and jazz music in Huntington Beach, as seen in the variety of festivals the seaside OC city hosts.
One of the longest running events, the HB City Surf Contest which is open to residents, was folded into a downtown HBDBID festival called Surf City Days. Spanning several days the event is a conglomerate of sports primarily. The competitions aren't necessarily sanctioned events through national sports associations, though they do include tons of fun!
Another September sports festival to remember actually has changed dates, formats and even took hiatus as the event was sold to another enterprise. Association of Volleyball Professionals for several years has hosted its final beach volleyball competition on the sands of Huntington Beach.
Then there's an up & comer sporting event, Stand Up Paddle, which now hosts an annual competition, usually in September in Huntington Beach.
Since we're talking about the Pacific Ocean, an extremely popular doggy event, the Surfing Contest for dogs, is held at Dog Beach each September.
If you're not a sports fanatic, you may soon be after you've visited HB.
