Katin Pro Am Team Challenge, surfing - through Jan. 12. Founded in 1977 by Nancy Katin (Kanvas by Katin) the event has hosted Shaun Tomson, Tom Curren, Sunny Garcia, and Kelly Slater and brands Hurley, Quiksilver, Lost, Fox, Reef, Jack's Surfboards and more. This surfing event features 17 teams of four surfers each, competing in open-draw format. It's a two-day event held during window of January 5-12. de Bolsa Chica Bird and Wetlands Tours - The Amigos de Bolsa Chica
offers free public tours of the Bolsa Chica wetlands in Huntington Beach,
California. Meet on the walkbridge with a docent to tour the 1.5 mile loop
trail that encircles the Ecological Reserve. Guides discuss plants, animals,
birds, wetlands conservation, endangered species and other related topics.
Dogs and bikes are not permitted. Time: 9 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. every 15 minutes
