August 7, 2011 US Open of Surfing Through Aug. 7, 2011 - Huntington Beach's biggest sporting event of the year is held at City Beach, and includes world class surfing, extreme sports action, and great, free concerts.
Deep Pit BBQ Annual Feast - For over 75
years, the Huntington Beach Masonic Lodge
has hosted this annual deep-pit-barbeque.
Hundreds of pounds of pork and beef roast
slowly roasted over hardwood coals in the
lodge’s deep-pit-barbeque. Also included are
several side salads, BBQ garlic bread, cold
beverages and Ice cold watermelon. The Job’s
Daughters will be selling fresh baked
goodies. Eastern Star will be selling had
crafted items. I hear that the El Bakal
Shrine Clowns may be on hand making balloon
animals and we usually have Musicians from
El Bakal playing Jamaican style steel drums.
