March 27, 2010 Strongest Man Contest. The 2nd Annual Southern California’s Strongest Man contest will take place in the beach parking lot on Huntington Street off of Pacific Coast Highway directly across from the Huntington Beach Hilton. The contest will feature five popular strongman events including: The Overhead Press Medley Giant Tractor Tire Flip and Farmer's Walk Keg Toss Over Bar (6 kegs) The Truck Pull Atlas Stones. The contest will determine the best strongman in both the Lightweight (less than 231 lbs) and Heavyweight (231 lbs +) divisions. 30 competitors from all over the U.S. including (California, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, Kansas, Oregon and Colorado) will be coming to H.B. to compete for the title of Southern California's Strongest Man. Both of the Champions from last year will be returning: Sean Demarinis from Lake Forest, CA and Erik Petersen from Kingsburg, CA. Other local competitors include: Dan Harrison from Irvine (2nd place last year), Lewis Bradshaw from Newport Beach (former Estancia H.S football QB), Nick Romero from Garden Grove, CA, and Casey Garrison from Long Beach (former Pittsburgh Pirates pro baseball player).
