WOODY, THE HB CAR
About the photo above:
When Huntington Beach City Council voted to adopt the woody as its official car, it had nothing to do with the actual cars used in the city, the city sponsored car manufacturers and car sellers, etc.
Lifeguards are given vehicles to use from corporate car sponsors such as Nissan. Official city vehicles are typically trucks and utility vehicles.
Woodies are common along the California coast. In Huntington Beach, a regional car club bring their woodies from Newport Beach, Fountain Valley, Long Beach, Westminster & Huntington, driving them in parades and to surfing events. It's really a blast!
