April 24, 2010 Ballet Repertory "Cinderella" . This timeless tale of love is brought to life in a charming full-length ballet directed by Anthony Sellars. Ballet Repertory Theatre's CINDERELLA includes the magic, beauty, and romance of the classic fairy tale set to Sergei Prokofiev's distinctive musical score. With its enchanting costumes, scenery, and props, this vivid rendition blends humor with fantasy and skill with elegance. Monthly service day every last Saturday of the month includes restoration of native plant communities through non-native plant removal, and cleanup efforts. April 24, 2010 Dark of the Moon, Play. Academy of Performing Arts (APA)produces a stunning Broadway and London hit which is a powerful fantasy set long ago in the Smoky Mountains. As dazzling and spectacular as it is intimate and intense, this epic supernatural love story has elements of Twilight, Romeo and Juliet and Wicked. Based on the haunting folk ballad of Barbara Allen, John, a witch boy, falls in love with the beautiful Barbara. He begs the conjurers to use their powers to make him human so he can marry her. As the townspeople grow suspicious of the outsider, the witches want him back and all conspire against the young lovers as the play moves to its tragic conclusion. Along with the drama there is comedy, music, singing, dance as well as special effects. This production promises to be unlike any other as Dark of the Moon returns to our Historic Theater for its 30th Anniversary production.
