September 12, 2008 Surfing Sounds Part II: Jan & Dean. This new exhibit explores the relationship and affect surfing music has on the surfing culture and pop culture, as well. It will feature original art by Huntington Beach resident, Dean Torrenceof Jan & Dean, and will include memorabilia from the band's decade-long rise to fame with songs that topped the charts with 28 hits: Deadman's Curve, Little Old Lady from Pasadena, Surf City and that actually continues today with concert tours. (Note: Jan Berry passed away in March 2004.) In addition to this exhibition, Celine Chat will present abstracts.

Fire rings are located north of the Huntington Beach Pier at Bolsa Chica State Beach on Pacific Coast Highway (between Warner Ave. & Seapoint St.) and south of the Huntington Beach Pier on PCH between 1st Street and Beach Blvd. at Huntington City Beach or between Beach Blvd. & Brookhurst Street at Huntington State Beach. September 12, 2008 Wetlands viewing - Birders, nature lovers and the curious are invited to drop by the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, one of the West Coast's significant flyways for migrating birds.
