March 7, 2008 Play - The Treasure of the Sierra Madre by Herb Robins from the Novel by B. Traven, directed by Tom Amen. Set in 1930’s Mexico the play captures Traven’s scorn for regimentation and earthly goods, and his passion for individual liberty and the primitive past. Unbridled greed and an illusive treasure that proves secondary to the thrill of the hunt is what The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is about. Cost: $12/general admission. March 7, 2008 Farmer's Market and Art A-Faire Held weekly on Friday from Noon to Dusk (approx. 5 p.m.) Held most Fridays at the outdoor Pier Plaza next to the Huntington Beach Pier, a certified Farmer's Market sells the finest California grown fruits and vegetables, breads, nuts, flowers and perishables. March 7, 2008 Wetlands viewing - Birders, nature lovers and the curious are invited to drop by the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, one of the West Coast's significant flyways for migrating birds. Bring binoculars to enjoy even closer views of these soaring creatures. Location: Pacific Coast Highway between Seapoint and Warner on the east side of the highway. Enjoy 300 acres, plus a 1.5 mile loop trail. No pets or bikes permitted on the trails. Open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
