Huntington Beach has a new shuttle.  A 20-passenger van will run every Friday during the pilot period. On Saturdays and Sundays a 12-passenger van is added to accommodate larger weekend crowds. About 100 passengers used the shuttle in its opening weekend, last weekend. The pilot program costs about $30,000 to operate, or $53 per hour. The funds for the service come entirely from the Tourism Business Improvement District Fund, which is a self-assessment from local hotels to fund promotion and marketing of the destination, and will not affect taxpayer dollars.
