October 4, 2007 - Art. On Location exhibit at Golden West College Fine Arts Gallery features contemporary rural and urban paintings of Darlene Campbell, Barrie Mottishaw, David Hines, Kathryn Phillips, Gregory Martin, Suong Yangchareon; Remembering James Fee: Peleliu. The late James Fee’s work last appeared in the Golden West College Fine Art Gallery in the fall of 2001, in the exhibit James Fee Peleliu Project. The Peleliu Project featured photographs by James Fee and photographs by and from the Archives of his father Russell Fee (b.1924, d.1972). James Fee’s father had been in the battle of Peleliu in the Philippines during World War II. The project was James Fee’s personal quest to retrace the steps of his late father. Photographs features in the exhibition are a tribute to James Fee’s memory.Runs through October 19, 2007. October 4, 2007 Surf Sound -Surf Sounds Part 1: Featuring the Beach Boysis the latest exhibit from the Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum. Did you know The Beach Boys were first called The Pendletons, for their woolen jackets they eventually shed? Record covers, tickets, stage passes, karaoke sing-alongs and memorabilia from a global phenomenon are showcased in this unique, fun exhibit.
