May 21, 2005 Ukulele Exhibit Grand Opening
with Performance -UkeLeiMe's playing will perform from 2 to 3 p.m.
followed by Jim Beloff from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Bill Tapia is headliner
playing from5 to 6 p.m. Bill is 97 so it should be real- History of the Ukulele is a fun, interactive exhibit for all ages.
It features vintage ukuleles, musical instruction workshops and band
performing at various times during the exhibit run. Time: 9 a.m. to 5

Derelicts share Hot Rods, Street Cars, Woodies, Imports and a variety of
restored vehicles at Adams and
Magnolia Ave. Parking is available in the Ace parking lot or Adams Avenue Donut Shop with

May 21, 2005 Police Department Open House - The Huntington Beach Police
Department will host an open house with an invitation for the public to look
Police Department headquarters. There will be displays featuring equipment
and resources utilized by the Police Department, including a police
helicopter, cars and equipment from the Special Weapons and Tactic Team
(SWAT). A K-9 will also be on hand and Orange County Animal Control's
Adopt-a-Puppy van will have a display. Open House will be from 10 am to 2 pm

Southwest Conference - National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA)
Southwest Conference West Coast Championships is a 6 Star event that brings
together students who will compete for the title of West Coast Champion.
Top 6 advance to Airshow Final at Nationals.
Categories and divisions include up and coming "Mini Groms" and classic "Longboard."

May 21, 2005 Walk - Arthritis Walk involves individuals or
teams of people starting at the base of the Huntington
Beach Pier and walking along a 5K route north on the Boardwalk turning
around just past 17th street. A one mile option is in effect with a 1/2 mile
turn around. There are ten Arthritis Walk locations throughout Southern
California. At each location, men, women, and children with arthritis will
lead the way wearing special blue "hero" hats to show that they are taking
control of their arthritis. And during the walk you'll have an opportunity
to write an inspirational message on the Wall of Heroes. Participants join
in on a variety of activities while walking the scenic 5K route. From face
painting and clowns, to cheerleaders and music, awards given for the Best
Team Spirit, Top Fundraising Team and more -- there is fun competition for
everyone. The Arthritis Walk is a great way to get involved in your
community, make new friends and improve the lives of the 70 million
Americans currently suffering from arthritis. Cost: Volunteer fundraising in
which you set a goal and obtain sponsor donations-- see website. Volunteer

meets the third Sunday of every month. Time: 10 a.m. to Noon. This is a
two-hour walking tour of the Bolsa Chica Mesa and Wetlands conducted by the
Bolsa Chica Land Trust. This docent-led tour makes five stops along the
walkbridge and loop trails of the wetlands. Meet in the Ecological Reserve
parking lot. Warm clothing, comfortable shoes and binoculars are
