June 11, 2005 Surfing Competition - HB Surf Series Surfing Competition - The HB Surf Series will hold four of six events at the most visible surf venue in the world, the famous Southside of Huntington Beach Pier. Nine divisions comprise the events and include: Super Grom, Boys, Juniors, Men, Masters, Super Men, Women, Longboard, and Professional. World class surfers Jeff and Barry Deffenbaugh created this event, providing an opportunity for surfing in categories for groms, masters and longboard. June 11, 2005 Free Fishing Day in California. Two days per year are declared free fishing days where you do not need a license to catch fish. While all fishing regulations, such as bag and size limits, gear restrictions, fishing hours and stream closures remain in effect, there are two Saturdays each year where anyone can fish without purchasing a fishing license. The other Free Fishing Day is September 24, 2005. In 2006, Free Fishing Days will be June 10 and September 23.
