December 2, 2004 Surfing - Surfing America will introduce USA Amateur Surf Team in the City of Huntington Beach, California on December 2, 2004. The new team will include Bethany Hamilton, the 14-year-old surfer from Hanalei, Hawaii, who was attacked by a shark in October 2003 and lost her left arm. Approximately 84 artificial snowflakes strewn with twinkling lights adorn downtown Huntington Beach. They are a delight to see. There are 48 on the pier and 36 stretching along Main Street from Pacific Coast Highway to Orange Avenue. Traditionally placed along Main Street with corporate sponsorship plaques attached to them, funding cuts have changed the procedure this year.
